 Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time for our outdoor session?

The time and location are a very important part of the planning process. The best light is an hour before sunset, especially at the beach. If we plan the session to early then the light might be too harsh, the sun will be too strong and may cause harsh shadows.

What if it rains?

I know weather is always a concern. I keep an eye on the weather everyday. If I notice the threat of rain I will reach out and we will start making arrangements on what to do next. We might have to reschedule or we can adjust the time that we do the session.

What is a digital download?

After your session all of your images from our session will be sent to your email. You will be able to view and download the images directly to your computer. I suggest saving them to a special folder on your computer. If you use a cloud based service you can save them there too or even save them to a flash drive.

There will be no physical print included in our session.

Do you do any retouching?

All of your images will be carefully edited. Retouching and editing are two vastly different things. Edits are what we do to enhance the images we capture at our session. Retouching is when airbrush skin, or fix flyaways or even make thinning adjustments. This type of retouching will be sent to a professional for a cost.

How far in advance do I need to book my session?

For summer beach sessions I book 4-6 weeks ahead. Weekends are extremely busy, if you need a weekend I would try to book 8-10 weeks before. To book studio sessions I book 2-3 weeks in advance.

What should we wear for our family session?

This is the most asked question that I get. The best advice I can give is to have the women find something that they feel beautiful in. I suggest finding 3 -4 colors and coordinating them with the family. I like keeping it light, blues, pinks, grey’s and whites. Pinterest is also a good resource. What not to wear- Ruffles, Wrap dresses and transition lens. Also be sure to bring a hair tie in case the wind is strong.
