Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can you make me thinner? Can you fix my hair? Can you add a person who is not here to the photo? What types of edits do you do?

I can do basic edits to your images such as, crop, color, convert to black and white and blemish removal/ skin smoothing. Any request other than those listed will be sent to a professional retoucher for a fee. I love my job as a photographer and although my job entails a lot more than just taking pictures I am by no means a professional retoucher so for those types of jobs I outsource that type of work to a pro. To see a the retouching menu please click on the title Information and Retouching Services.

2. How far in advance do I need to schedule my session?

I normally book 4 to 6 weeks ahead. I would suggest to reach out to me as soon as you know so I can be sure to accommodate your time frame.  The summer months are my busiest time. Please contact me asap if your looking for a beach session from May- September. The weekends go first so If your looking for a weekend its best to reach out 2 to 3 months before your session. I also photograph weddings which are always on the weekends. If your on vacation for 1 week please contact me as soon as you know the dates so I can make sure to find a date during that week.

3. What is the best time for us to do our outdoor session?

The best time for any session outdoors is 1 hour to an hour and a half before sunset. In the summer I usually begin the sessions anywhere from 6:30 to 7:15pm. I know this is late for families with young children so I try to adjust accordingly. The issue is if its to early the sun can be very harsh and leave dark shadows on your face and its not the most flattering, also if we are on the beach, if its before 6:30 there are still a lot of people on the beach. Beaches are beautiful but the only time that really works is the evening. In some cases I will be able to do early morning session due to the light being behind the ocean and not many beach goers. Usually an hour or 2 after sunrise.

4. What happens if there is bad weather.

If the weather is bad we reschedule. I do my best to look ahead and make the call no later than the morning of the session. I know some people are on vacation and have limited days to do the session, but In the chance of bad weather there is not much we can do as far as locations. Your deposit will be carried over to the new session.

5. What is a digital download?

A digital download basically means that the images that you select will be either emailed to you or downloaded from your gallery. There will be no physical product. I will send you information on how to print and save your digital images along with your download.

6. What types of products do you offer? Do you offer prints?

Yes I absolutely sell professional prints. My prints come in most standard sizes, 4x6,5x7,8x10,11x14 & 16x20 but I also offer custom sizes as well. Once your in your gallery you will be able to see all of the wonderful products that I offer. Here is a list of a few. Accordion Mini books, Holiday cards & Announcements, Canvas Gallery wraps, Reclaimed Wood canvas and much more...   I also offer print packages instead of the digital packages. Please ask me for more information

7. What do we wear for our family session?

This is honestly the most asked question. I like to tell my mom's to find their outfit first and coordinate the rest of the family. So for example if you love to wear blue and you find an amazing dress find other colors that might blend with the blue dress for the rest of the family. I wrote a blog about this subject and I attached the link here for you to take a look at. One thing I don't recommend is the White t shirts and Jeans, Its been over done and it really doesn't show your personalities. Below are a few outfit options.
